Take your innovation to new heights and join Bayer's Expert Mondays 2024, a series of knowledge exchange sessions to supercharge your startup’s growth.

Each one-hour Bayer's Expert Monday includes a live Q&A with respective Bayer Experts. You can stay for a Meet & Greet with Bayer Scouts and Scientific Finders. Please reserve 30 additional minutes in your schedule for the Meet & Greet after the Bayer Expert session.

These sessions are not intended for service providers, consultants, IT providers, etc. They are designed for drug developers and healthcare researchers seeking collaboration with big pharma and out-licensing opportunities later in their journey. Session recordings are NOT distributed afterward. Live attendance is necessary to get the most out of the expert sessions and network with the Bayer Pharma team.

Call for Applications!

A consortium of medical school partners are offering a Regional Life Science Innovation Bootcamp! The program provides innovators with a hands-on learning experience to successfully transfer research or ideas into products and services that benefit human health. This rapid two-week program utilizes the Lean Startup methodology, helping teams engage in 20+ customer discovery interviews with potential stakeholders in the healthcare, biotech, and life science sectors. 

Teams of 1+ members consisting of science/engineering students, faculty, and researchers from any university or lab are HIGHLY encouraged to apply.

Life Science Innovation Bootcamp Fall 2024 Virtual Course Dates:

  • Kickoff Session: Wednesday, November 6, 2024, 9 AM - 12 PM ET
  • Mid Session: Wednesday, November 13, 2024, 9 AM - 12 PM ET
  • Finale Session: Wednesday, November 20, 2024, 9 AM - 12 PM ET

This course is FREE and fully administered via Zoom. The Entrepreneurial Lead must be able to attend all three workshop dates!

Are you a STEM researcher interested in translating your technology innovation to impact? The National Science Foundation’s I-Corps program can provide you with entrepreneurial training, mentoring, and up to $50,000 in funding for customer discovery. 

Hosted by the Interior Northeast I-Corps Hub (IN I-Corps), the virtual NSF I-Corps Information Session on Tuesday, October 22 (12:00 – 12:45 p.m. ET) is designed for busy graduate students, postdocs, and faculty interested in learning more about I-Corps regional and national programming. NSF I-Corps instructors and alumni will be in attendance to share their experience and answer questions. 

The NSF created I-Corps (Innovation Corps) to bridge the gap between fundamental research discoveries in science and engineering and the commercialization of technologies, products, and processes with the potential to benefit society.

Center for Technology Licensing (CTL) at Weill Cornell Medicine Office Hours are open to all who wish to get an answer to their intellectual property questions and gain more information about the advancement of their IP filings with a one-on-one meeting.

The Tuesday, October 22, office hours will be hosted virtually by Eric Bryant, Intellectual Property Officer, Biomedical Sciences.  

Eric holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from New York University, a Juris Doctor from New York Law School, and is a registered patent attorney. He works with the Weill Cornell office to execute on intellectual property strategy, review submitted invention disclosures, and manage domestic and foreign patent filings and patent prosecution. Eric’s expertise encompasses a variety of technologies including, but not limited to, diagnostics tools and methods, pharmaceuticals, controlled release therapeutic devices, respiratory devices, surgical tools, biological technologies and nanotechnology.

In this month-long, virtual course (November 13 - December 18), researchers working on a deep tech innovation “get out of your comfort zone” and talk with customers (virtually) to identify the best product-market fit.

This is a one-hour long pitch day for current undergraduate and graduate student founders who are looking to connect with alumni, market mappers and students who can help them along their journey. Founder pitches will occur for the first 30 minutes, followed by individual breakout rooms for Networking and Q&A for each founder. Attendees will have the ability to join the breakout rooms for founders who interest them. Moderators will be present to ensure all questions are answered. 

We welcome all student founders to submit a three-minute pitch deck here by October 14th for the opportunity to pitch in front of the Cornell community. This is your opportunity to showcase your startup and leverage the Big Red Spirit to achieve your goals!

A community formed from participating organizations will select 7-10 founders for our first virtual demo day, by October 18th.
