PHAR 9021 Fundamentals of Academic Business Development

This experiential course is designed for Weill Cornell Ph.D. students who have completed their Admission to Doctoral Candidacy Examination (ACE) and the Accelerating BioVenture Innovation (ABI) course.

Students, seeking to learn about innovation management and academic business development, will gain hands-on experience in cultivating, marketing and commercializing life science innovations. Participants in the course will learn transferable skills for careers in academia, technology transfer, venture capital, consulting and beyond. The course is divided into three modules, each covering a specific aspect of the commercialization process: (1) intellectual property protection, (2) technology evaluation, and (3) partnering academic technologies.
