BioVenture eLab maintains working relationships with over 50 startup mentors, including investors, industry representatives, strategic operating partners and professional service providers, who provide input and feedback on R&D and business plan development. Their expertise can be used for ideation, strategic planning, experiment design, regulatory strategy, reimbursement tactics, intellectual property strategy and fundraising. Mentors are typically assigned to projects through the Accelerating BioVenture Innovations course and $100K Biomedical Business Plan Challenge. Direct introductions are also scheduled if the scientist or clinician is seeking answers to questions related to Weill Cornell Medicine discoveries. In several instances, mentors have been so enthusiastic about their assigned projects that they initiate formal advisory relationships with the founders and/or serve as launch CEOs.
