Li Gan, Burton P. and Judith B. Resnick Distinguished Professor in Neurodegenerative Diseases and Professor of Neuroscience
Name: C57BL/6J-Apoeem1(APOE3)Lgn
Strain: N/A
Modification: Knock-in
Description: Human APOE3 knock-in mice were generated by inserting a cDNA encoding human APOE3 and a polyA sequence into the endogenous mouse Apoe locus immediately upstream of the start codon via homology-directed repair. This insertion places human APOE3 expression under control of the endogenous mouse Apoe promoter while inactivating the mouse Apoe gene.
Application: Mouse model useful in studying Alzheimer’s Disease.
