Human Hepatocyte-Like Cell Line (iPS-H)

Principal Investigator:

Robert Schwartz, Associate Professor of Medicine

Tissue: Liver

Species: Human

Disease: Normal

Modifications: None

Description: iPS-H cells are derived from iPSCs and can be cocultured with stromal cells to create functional hepatic engraftments in mice. These engraftments display human albumin and α1-antitrypsin levels comparable to primary human hepatocytes. iPS-H cells have also been shown to support hepatitis B virus infections.
