sAC C2 Floxxed Mouse

Principal Investigator:

Jochen Buck, Professor of Pharmacology

Lonny Levin, Professor of Pharmacology

Modification: Conditional knock-out

Description: Conditional soluble adenylyl cyclase (sAC; Adcy10) floxed mice were generated by flanking exons 11–13 of the gene with loxP sites, targeting the region encoding the C2 catalytic domain of soluble adenylyl cyclase. An FRT-flanked neomycin selection cassette was initially included and subsequently removed via Flp recombinase, leaving intact loxP sites for conditional gene targeting. These mice enable tissue-specific and/or inducible deletion of Adcy10 when crossed with Cre recombinase-expressing lines.

Applications: Conditional mouse model to study spatial and temporal roles of sAC.
