NSF I-Corps Regional Course for Digital Healthcare (Deadline: 1/15/25)
Wednesday, January 15, 2025 - 9:00am to 5:00pmIn this hybrid course (February 10 - March 12), a select group of researchers working on digital healthcare technology will "get out of their comfort zone" and talk to customers at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference to identify the best product-market fit. The course begins online and culminates with a trip to Las Vegas, NV for the 2025 HIMSS Conference. Up to $5,000 (depending on team size) in travel reimbursement funding will be available for accepted teams*.
You may apply with a team of 1-3 people. Teams may not split attendance between members. Please only include the members of your team that will be fully participating in the course. All team members are required to attend and participate fully in every course session and complete all coursework.

The Resnick Prize for Excellence in Entrepreneurship Info Session
Tuesday, January 14, 2025 - 12:00pm to 12:30pmJoin us for a virtual info session for the Susan and Gene D. Resnick ’70, MD ’74 Prize for Excellence in Entrepreneurship (“Resnick Prize”). The Resnick Prize is an annual, university-wide competition that provides funding to startups with an active, intercampus collaboration involving Weill Cornell Medicine and another Cornell University location in Ithaca, New York, or Qatar. Startups initiated on the Weill Cornell, Cornell Ithaca, Cornell Tech, or Weill Cornell Medicine - Qatar campuses are eligible to apply as long as the startup has a license to Cornell-owned technology that touches Weill Cornell Medicine through either a research or clinical collaboration.
We are seeking exciting collaborations where teams can work together on a technology that will be commercialized via a startup. The winning company will receive up to $10,000 in prize money.
The Resnick Prize seeks to fund projects in all sectors (therapeutics, devices, digital health, research & AI tools, etc.) impacting healthcare and patient outcomes. Teams must have incorporated their company to be eligible for the award.

Accelerating BioVenture Innovation Final Pitch Event

The program educates participants on all aspects of launching a company. Teams create pitch decks based on weekly instruction and mentorship from industry experts, and then finalist teams are selected to pitch to a panel of investor judges. A networking reception will follow the pitch event at Griffis Faculty Lounge.

3D Printing Seminar
Friday, November 22, 2024 - 12:00pm to 2:00pmDo you have ideas for a new medical device to improve patient care or a tool to support your current medical training objectives? Do you need assistance translating these ideas into a graphic design and printing a 3D prototype?
BioVenture eLab is hosting another introductory 3D printing class in its MakerSpace (1157 York Ave, New York, NY). Learn 3D printing basics and how to workshop your medical device projects. In addition to learning how to use specialized software and Google Sketch to create designs for 3D printing, topics covered in this seminar will include:
- biodesign concepts
- how to use design software to refine and augment your designs
- tips for using a 3D printer to generate an initial prototype
The seminar will feature NatalieDeana Badillo, a Weill Cornell Medicine medical student and CTSC TL-1 trainee who possesses a biomedical engineering degree. She serves as co-president of the Bioengineering Interest Group (BIG) and 3D printing liaison for the Samuel J. Wood Library at Weill Cornell Medicine.

Manufacturing Hardware Accelerator at Rev: Ithaca Startup Works (Application Deadline: 11/22/24)
Friday, November 22, 2024 - 9:00am to 11:30pmThe Manufacturing Hardware Accelerator is a cohort-based program led by Rev: Ithaca Startup Works that supports hardware startups that are ready to bring their prototypes into production. The program is funded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration and offered in partnership with Cornell Engineering.
Over the course of the hybrid 52-week program, entrepreneurs are provided with valuable entrepreneurial training and design for manufacturing programming, one-on-one mentorship, and networking opportunities—including introductions to manufacturers and investors. The cohort will meet virtually twice a month and in-person in Ithaca, NY approximately three times during the program for immersive experiences and manufacturing tours.
Applications close at 11:30pm ET, on November 22, 2024. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

ELIGIBILITY: The Manufacturing Hardware Accelerator is designed for startups based anywhere in the U.S. that have already developed a fully functional prototype and identified a viable customer market. Hardware and physical product startups with innovations geared toward businesses or consumers that include electronics, plastics, enclosures, mechanisms, and or machines are encouraged to apply. The program is free, and participants do not give away any equity.
MedTech Track: Offered in partnership with Cornell Biomedical Engineering and Weill Cornell, the new MedTech track provides innovators developing medical devices access to specialized prototyping equipment, regulatory resources, and research and medical professionals in the field.
